Get a feel for The Ocean View Beach House

The house was designed as a beach house from the start and there are outstanding views of the ocean. In the lower bedroom (toward the East), you can watch the sunrise right over your toes. On some mornings, just before the sun breaks the horizon, the entire sky turns brilliant red over the ocean.
There are two bedrooms upstairs and a half bath. The bed in the front upstairs bedroom has been built a little higher than normal so that you can see the ocean horizon line at eye level. The large window is strategically placed to give 180 degree view. If you’re in charge of bedroom allocation, this is first choice.
Downstairs there are two bedrooms, sunrise room with a queen bed and the other bedroom with two built-in single beds. Emphasis was put on the use of natural renewable materials in the construction of the house with cypress tongue and groove paneling, abaco pine and ceramic tile.
The main level consists of a living room, dining area and kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped (including a commercial blender), refrigerator, gas range/oven and small appliances. All you’ll need to bring is food. This area opens through three sliding doors onto the front deck. With the front wall being nearly entirely glass, the view is spectacular.
Surrounding the house is a wrap-around deck which expands the outside space twelve feet out the front and rear and five feet along the sides. The first floor bedrooms have room air conditioners and ceiling fans. The second floor bedrooms have ceiling fans and ventilation. With the ocean breeze, the house stays cool. The walk to the beach is down a path through the low brush, about 150 feet from the house. You will find several ice coolers in the hall closet. They are for the use of guests. There are also an assortment of snorkels and fins hanging in the closet. If you use them, please put them away clean and dry.
There is an outside shower to use to rinse off after being at the beach. This helps limit the amount of sand entering the house. There is a stereo AM/FM cassette player in the cabinet next to the VHF radio. Bring your own cassettes or CD’s.
At 8:15AM each morning the “cruisers net” broadcasts the local news, stateside news, weather, tides, and special events on VHF channel 68. It’s a good way to check weather and plan the day.
