Getting there
Welcome to my ocean view beach house. If you have any questions please email. I can make quality recommendations for travel time and structure to best insure your desired itinerary.
Travel
Marsh Harbor (MHH) can be reached by air from several airports in the Southeastern US. West Palm Beach (PBI), Miami (MIA), Fort Lauderdale and Tampa have the most frequent flights to Marsh Harbor (MHH). After arriving at Marsh Harbor, you must clear customs. Several major airlines fly into Marsh Harbor.
These include: USAIR, Continental, American, Delta and some Bahamian airlines. There are numerous charter airlines as well operating from Ft. Lauderdale. A passport is the necessary form of identification to enter the Bahamas.
After clearing customs, take a taxi to the Guana ferry dock. Tell the driver you are going to Guana Cay. They are familiar with the location of the dock at Conch Inn.

Leaving Marsh Harbour for Guana & Scotland Cay from Conch Inn
Arrival
It’s likely that your arrival will be in the early afternoon. Typically, people take the 3:30PM ferry over to Guana. The caretaker will be expecting you on that ferry. If you have a few hours to spend in Marsh Harbor, it is a good idea to stop at the “Family Market.” The driver will know where it is and it’s on the way to the dock. They sell locally baked cakes, pies and wonderful spicy chicken sandwiches.
Also, you can buy locally grown fruit. The bananas are marvelous. The citrus is for the local market (they export only the cosmetically “perfect” ones) and is usually outstanding. While the restaurant at Conch Inn is good, you might consider the one next door named “Mango’s.” Your gear can be left on the ferry dock. There are a few coconut trees on the shore of the dock area. They make for some very nice shade in the event a nap is in order. There is usually a lad there that will “keep an eye on ya tings” for you for a gratuity of a few dollars. Just ask the bartender at the outside bar at Conch Inn. You’ll see it immediately at the end of the wooden deckwalk when you depart from the taxi.

Where is the beachhouse located on Guana?
Once you arrive at the ferry dock, you can spend some time at the Conch Inn restaurant. My personal choice is Mango’s, the restaurant next door. Their cuisine is outstanding.
Once underway on the ferry, ask the captain to contact the caretaker on the VHF radio. Her name is Ruth Sands and her VHF call sign is “PDQ.” Ruth will greet you at the dock and transport you and your baggage to the house.
The caretakers email address and telephone number will be provided to you after your reservation is made so that you can coordinate your arrival and pick-up. Cellular service is available on the island through a tower on Treasure Key. You should investigate the rates prior to leaving home. The island also has several public internet stations and most areas have wireless internet reception. Ruth will provide transport for you when you depart the island. Arrangements should be made with her as to the time of your departure.
